Tony Blake, Founder
Turnaround artist. Team builder. Process engineer. Innovator. Data analyst. Coach. Recruiter. Teacher. Whatever hat he is wearing – Tony creates value for his clients. He can work the big picture or dive into the details. He has a gift for synthesizing complex situations to create simple, actionable constructs and plans that teams understand and embrace. In short, he aligns “people strategy” with business strategy to drive outstanding organizational outcomes.
There have been three main chapters in his career:
Chapter One – 13 years as an aerospace systems engineer and project manager, mostly with Lockheed Martin. He supported a variety of missile, space defense (aka “Star Wars”), launch systems, and satellite projects and new business proposals.
Chapter Two – 19 years serving in a variety of corporate Talent Acquisition and Human Resources leadership roles including Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). His specialty was turning around broken departments and teams. A highlight during this chapter was when his team at DaVita was named the Top Corporate Recruiting Team in 2010 – beating out this little outfit called Microsoft.
Chapter Three – Tony launched Strategic Impact Group in 2016. We have worked with organizations from 15 to 50,000 employees, privately owned & publicly held, start-up & established, and for-profit & not-for-profit. In this current chapter he also realized a career goal by teaching HR Management at Colorado State University.
A Kansas native, he holds a M.S. in Management from the University of Colorado and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University. He obtained his Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification in 2001 and his Hogan Administration and Interpretation Certification in 2016.
Tony moved to Colorado after finishing his undergraduate degree and currently lives in Windsor. He is married with five children and two grandchildren. He loves to hike and bike and is known to occasionally sample different craft beers and bourbons. Plus, he’s also a big fan of Nelson DeMille and Michael Connelly novels.
